Beauty Tips

I stare at my face in the mirror.

So imperfect.

Wondering about getting old,

Minimize the lines and the signs.

Nobody can fight nature.

Perfect faces eventually will be wrinkled.

Even the most beautiful woman in the world will be old.

Everyone will look different as we reach that stage.

Let’s not  be too attached,

To obsessed  with physical beauty.

Soon it will fade away.

Do not be consumed by the standards of the world.

Beauty is how you feel inside.

Growing in wisdom,

Gratitude, Happiness, and Love.

Those essential things invisible to the eyes.

Those things inside that last forever.

Each person is truly beautiful.

Catching Up With Cindy Kurleto

Thanks to writing. I started to see through things clearly. I am able to look deep inside and know myself a little bit more. I have become aware of my existence, of the life around me, of living, of being human, and even of my greatest fear, death.
One of the many things I have come to realize is that my life is too short to be mad, sad, or miserable. I have to overcome these emotions as they exist. I have to find out an outlet, my passion, and do things that make me happy. I have learned that playing the flute and blogging are one my favorite things at this stage of my life!
Moreover, I also realized that it is important to surround myself with people and things that will make me grow, that will inspire me, and make me happy. People and things that give out positive vibes and make us realize more the kindness and beauty of life. We can not always choose 100% of the time but we can still do something.
Even in my social media account (Instagram), I only choose to follow people who inspire me. There are indeed a lot of great people around the globe, and I wish I have all the time to write about them.  These inspirations crossing my path are part of my journey. Thus, I recognize and appreciate them through writing.
For instance, I wrote about the flutist who inspires me to do better, Bevani. Please read about her and check her Youtube Channel (Bevani Flute). Now, it is my pleasure to feature this wonderful lady. I never knew her personally but when I was younger I saw her from TV commercials in the Philippines. She was a VJ, model, actress. She has one of the most beautiful faces in Philippine Television. Meet Cynthia or better known as Cindy Kurleto! I do not remember how I found her in Instagram but when I saw her, I left a comment on her post about how glad I was to see her. She responded and she was very nice to everyone. We found out that we have the same birthdays too (and year)! What struck me was seeing how she has found love and happiness in her private life now. She has left the world of show business to fulfill her destiny to be where she is right now, a loving wife and mother. So let’s catch up with Cindy!

Afternoon Music For You

I love any kind of music.  It touches my soul. It is like painting. It transports you into a different world.

When I was in college (around 19 years ago)  I fell in love with this music.  I can still hear it in my head. I guess, I can never be tired listening to this. It will always be considered as one of my all time favorites. It is so beautiful, I guess a little bit sad. I feel so much love and longing. It can always make me cry.

It is from the movie, Love Affair, a romantic drama film from 1994. It starred Warren Beatty and Annette Benning. The music I fell in love with was composed by Ennio Morricone.

Sharing it with you. I hope you like it. Tell me what you think : )

Day Is Almost Over

It is the same everyday

There is a routine

There is order

We learn how to manage our time

To be efficient and effective

Responsibilities await us all the time

It is how we live in this world

And now my day is almost over again,

I  remember to pause

Appreciate beauty

Beauty that can be seen everywhere

A more meaningful way of living

Feel love, feel happy, feel blessed.

Enjoying the comfort of the cool breeze on my skin

With the company of two little kids playing around

Hoping to feel happy and at peace even after today

And still to see beauty in every single way…

Have a blessed day to my fellow bloggers and readers

May we always find inspiration as we go by our day.

Have a good life fellow travelers!

Learning From My Baby

Coming from my six year old son now… “It does not matter how pretty, handsome, or fancy you are. What matters most is what is inside your heart…” I was like, “Oh my, can you say it again?!”

I was putting him to sleep and he asked how come there are a lot of beauties in children’s stories? Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping beauty. And he added, “What is beauty?” Then the conversation went on.

Most of the time I really get surprised with his questions! Sometimes children remind us of the purest and essential lessons in life.

Well, goodnight my fellow  bloggers and readers. Sweetest dreams to everyone.

OR good morning to some of you : ) Have a great day!

Irresistable Beauty!

My husband knows that I do this a lot of times. Wherever we are, whatever we do, if I see something that is really beautiful, I stop and take pictures.

I love taking photos even if I am not included in it most of the times. I take photos of the beautiful places, things, and people I see (most of the time my kids).

I do not know what to do with my thousands of photos stored in my computer. My husband asked me what if it all got wiped out? I said I would really be devastated since I collect my memories (especially of my children) through photos and I regard it as one of my most valued possessions.

My husband backs it up in some program. I am obviously so ignorant with “techie” stuff. I just like taking photos and save them. I know what to do already once I retire and have nothing much else to do. My major project is to sort out all the pictures I have collected in my life. Maybe make a website for it and at the same time print them all out and make my albums.

Is that going to be for me? A good question. Maybe it will bring me joy to look at the past through the photos while I am alive. Hopefully my children will see how much they have been loved. Pass it on to their future children and grand children.

Okay, I am thinking too much forward again.

I dropped by to share some beautiful things I saw today and this week. I hope they inspire somebody. It is a beautiful world out there. May we find peace in our hearts. And joy as well!!!

I saw this when we were walking by the church. They have pretty flowers around.

This was from the church too.

Saw this street full of Jacaranda trees. I took this during a morning walk with my hubby last Friday.

Still from the morning walk…

Just before I post this blog, I was doing chores when I noticed this from my window.

The bright red flower was in the midst of the white roses and it intrigued me.

I went closer to see and investigated. I found out it belonged to a different plant beside the white roses.

I said how beautiful!

Then I took this photo. I love the rays of the sun.

I see God.

I see light.

I see beauty

I see life.

Are You Beautiful?

I rarely watch live TV shows. I usually watch through NETFLIX and only at night when the kids are asleep. A few nights ago, my husband was watching the news. I was on my IPAD reading some blog posts from my fellow bloggers. Suddenly, something got my attention. I thought it was unique and interesting. There was a very good message being sent out to everybody.

Last week, (April 6, 2015), Lane Bryant  launched a campaign called, #ImNoAngel  in Manhattan. The campaign appeals to plus-sized women. Unlike Victoria’s Secret, this caters to women sizes 14 to 28. The campaign features a video of six lingerie-clad women, including talking about what makes them feel sexy. “It’s all about how you feel,” one model says”. (Jennifer Swann, TakePart’s culture and lifestyle reporter)

“Our brand has begun to change the conversation of traditional notions of beauty, and we are excited to break the mold of how society defines sexy,” said Lane Bryant president and chief executive officer Linda Heasley” (David Moin, wwd.com)

This topic talks about being sexy. It then led me to my question of who is beautiful? What is beautiful? The society has defined it and dictated what we should aim to look like. As a result, some people who have the money resort to surgery to change their looks. Some want to be super skinny and aim a “perfect” body. Some use all kinds of whitening products to look fairer and flawless (common in Asian countries). For those who can not look like it, they begin to feel very self conscious or maybe have a low self esteem/perception of self.  They may think they are less beautiful/sexy or not beautiful/sexy at all. There is nothing wrong in trying to improve oneself, doing your best to look beautiful. Beauty makes life more wonderful. It is how the society/media defines who and what is beautiful. I guess we just have to include/represent everyone. I hope the social media will continuously help promote self acceptance and uplift the spirit of all people, to let them realize that they are beautiful regardless of the past, sizes, colors, clothes they wear, and accessories they own.

As parents, we have the responsibility to remind our children what real beauty is. We do not want them to be enslaved by vanity.  Now a song is playing in my head. I would like to share it with you:

Beautiful

by Christina Aguilera

Everyday is so wonderful
Then suddenly
It’s hard to breathe
Now and then I get insecure
From all the pain
I’m so ashamed

I am beautiful
No matter what they say
Words can’t bring me down
I am beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can’t bring me down
Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

To all your friends you’re delirious
So consumed
In all your doom, ooh
Trying hard to fill the emptiness
The pieces gone
Left the puzzle undone
Ain’t that the way it is

You’re beautiful
No matter what they say
Words can’t bring you down
Oh no
You’re beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can’t bring you down
Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

No matter what we do (no matter what we do)
No matter what we say (no matter what we say)
We’re the song inside the tune (yeah, oh yeah)
Full of beautiful mistakes

And everywhere we go (and everywhere we go)
The sun will always shine (the sun will always, always, shine)
And tomorrow we might awake
On the other side

We’re beautiful
No matter what they say
Yes words won’t bring us down
Oh no
We are beautiful
In every single way
Yes words can’t bring us down
Oh no
So don’t you bring me down today

Oh, oh
Don’t you bring me down today
Don’t you bring me down, ooh
Today

Way to Happiness

The following are collection of phrases I read somewhere. I usually just put together all these lessons in my head, and try to remember them by heart. Sharing to you some of my favorite credos:

Yesterday is history and tomorrow is a dream. Today is a gift. So live TODAY, be present.

I love this phrase because it guides me when my mind starts to wander off.

It is very nice to reminisce and appreciate your journey by looking back. I often recall some memories in the past from my childhood, teen years, when I started working, the family where I grew up as well as the dearest friends along the way. I can say life was  simpler then. Some make me smile, some make me cry. Definitely, looking back makes me understand more my present life.  On the other hand, there are times when I keep wondering what my life could have been if I chose a different path. Then I am left with questions, lots of questions of what could have been.  Then I go back to my credo. The past is history. I can never go back or change it. It is useless to over think and waste my time and energy  about things I can not change.

Every circumstance in our lives (both good and bad) are necessary for us to be where we are right now. There is a reason for every event, every encounter with people who walk on our path.

People come and go in our journey, and some linger for a while. There is still a reason behind. As of now, we do not know why. Only God knows why (by the way, I love this song by Kid Rock. I remember my brother and his friends)! So just welcome the people in your life right now. These are people we love and cherish, and some we might dislike or hate.

It is good to have dreams and hopes. They keep us going. They inspire and motivate us. It surely helps us to have a happier life. And as we have an eye for the future, we should bear more importance on TODAY. If we keep looking back or forward, we might miss out the feeling and the beauty of today. Try to recognize and appreciate the people and things we have right now. We are blessed in so many ways. I believe that if we cultivate in ourselves this way of thinking, we can be happier and satisfied.

Bloom where God planted you. You are special. You are blessed. Refrain from comparing yourself with others. You will either find yourself  superior or inferior. You are special. You are blessed.
