First Of March

There was a time when my head was filled with thoughts. I had to write them down. They were overflowing. My heart was filled with emotions. I had to let them out.

I am not sure if it has something to do with the sudden loss of a loved one. But after that event, it seems like I have nothing much to say. Maybe my mind is still full of him. Or my heart still grieves.

I have not been writing as much. Instead I focus on music. I find it comforting. Healing. Some of the clips I share to my Instagram account (khris_79).

I know I will be back on track someday. For now, I will just let things be.

I hope you are doing fine as well as you read this. Keep inspiring others. Keep searching for that passion. Do things that will make you happy. Happy life. God bless you all.

I just want to say thank you for being a friend to me on this journey.

I thank words for helping me express my thoughts and emotions

                     and for keeping my sanity,

                      deepening my appreciation for life

I hope I have inspired someone along the way. This would really make me happy.

I will continue to write as long as I can for words will surely live longer than me.

Words last forever.

I want my children, grandchildren, my descendants, family and friends to have a glimpse of who I am.

Something that my ancestors did not have. Yes, I see some of their photos or I know them by name.

But with words, it goes beyond that.

God bless us all : )

Excuse Note

I used to read my fellow bloggers’ posts to get insights, wisdom, and inspiration everyday. I have not been too active these past few weeks. I would like to apologize for not being around, for not visiting your sites often. Soon, I will get back on track. With my Dad’s passing, I am just existing and going with the flow.

I know you will all still be there after this. Keep shining and inspiring!

The Best Gifts Ever!

My dear dad and step mom called me on the phone. I was very glad to hear from my dad. He was very ill last year, and now he undergoes kidney dialysis. He is so much better. My heart was leaping for joy to hear his voice especially when he said, “How can I forget this day?”

My mother and sister called me using Facetime. I was very happy to see them too. I usually think of my mom on my birthday. I know the pain of giving birth! Kudos to her!

My brother, his wife, and my nieces greeted me too. They updated me of the good news happening in their lives. I am happier to know that they are doing well in life.

My best friend, Larmee emailed me saying she screwed up with her birthday surprise. She said she put my email address instead of hers in the billing notification for whatever surprise that she has for me. I was clueless until she sent  me that email. That way, she screwed up with the surprise. Not a surprise anymore!!! hahaha!

I do not use Facebook anymore so there is no reminder to everyone that it is my birthday. So I truly appreciate the people who exerted effort to text me instead or leave me messages saying their warm wishes. And for those who are not good with remembering dates (just like me), I know they will greet me once they remember or find out! Not a problem with me!

This morning my two kids were singing me a birthday song. These human beings who literally were a part of my body, who came from me… It is music to my ears to hear them sing.

After dropping off my son to school, I invited three of my friends to join me for breakfast at home. I was happy to be with them. A company of good friends is really valuable.

Tonight, my family will just eat out. So no cooking dinner for me today!

I decided not to run on the treadmill, not to do the laundry today. I will sit back and relax. I lit up a candle on my altar and said a prayer. Actually, I just said THANK YOU.

I do not own fancy things. Remember I am Miss Thrift Shopper!  And I do not need expensive stuff as gifts. Family, friends, peace of mind, quiet time are the BEST GIFTS ever!  Indeed, these are priceless. I will never trade for anything in the world.

And of course, I would like to mention all the bloggers who sent me their birthday wishes too. You are all strangers but we are all connected to each other and have something in common here….WRITING.  I truly appreciate your time and your kind words!

God bless us everyone! Keep blogging, Keep inspiring!!!

Liebster Award

image

This is my first time to be nominated for an award. Thanks to Incidental Scribe for appreciating my blogs and for always showing her support. Please do check out her blogs too https://incidentalscribe.wordpress.com/

I am very new to blogging and to the terms/culture in the blogosphere. I came to learn that Liebster award, is an award for new bloggers with less than 200 followers. I am just not familiar yet with the purpose of this award and the other procedures as well. The way I see it, it promotes and introduces bloggers to each other. It seems to create a bond, a circle, a support group. Am I right? Well, I think it is fun and exciting since we will be answering questions and we will get to know other bloggers as well. I feel like answering a “slum book/autograph”, which I found very exciting when I was in grade school some decades ago!

The rules are, I have to answer their 10 questions and then nominate 10 blogs, who also have less than 200 followers, to answer 10 of my questions.

Official Rules:
#1. Each nominee must have under 200 followers
#2. Thank and link to the nominating blog
#3. Answer their 10 questions and propose 10 new ones for your nominees
#4. Nominate 10 blogs and tell them that they’ve been nominated
#5. Write a post containing the questions and include these rules in the post.

So here are my candid answers to the questions from Incidental Scribe (I will answer the first things that come out of my heart):

#1 What inspired you to start writing?

There was a point in my life when I felt I was looking for something. There was too much in my head and in my heart. I had to have a medium to help me. It has always been writing. Instead of doing it on a notebook, might as well use the technology. In this way, I can also reach out to other people and hope to support and inspire others too.

#2 If you could have dinner with any person alive or dead, who would you choose and why?

This may appear to be a very shallow answer. I would say one dinner with my celebrity crush? Why, because you know how it feels to have a crush. It is cute and exciting. And I will take lots of pictures with him! I am sure I will not see him again and it is just one dinner!  🙂 But of course, I would still go home to the one love of my life, my husband dear.

#3 What is one thing on your bucket list? (Things you want to do before you die)

I want to travel with my husband and children. First, to see all the beautiful places in the United States (to be in other States not just here in CA), all the historical sites, and travel at least one country in each continent of the world. Then I will still continue to blog and write about our journey.

#4 Which song, musician or band do you listen to the most right now?

Now that I am “older” I am fond listening to relaxing instrumental music (guitar, piano) and some reggae or jazz. No favorite band. I am not up to date anymore.

#5 How do you feel about pets?

I am sorry, I am not really fond of animals. I feel like they’re gonna bite me.

#6 Who is your favorite author?

Paulo Coelho

#7 What is your favorite meal and do you make it for yourself or prefer someone else to make it?

I am not really picky. I love making our food. Fish is my least favorite though.

#8 What advice would you give other bloggers starting out?

Do it for yourself. Enjoy writing. Do not think of pleasing other people. It will just follow if you love what you are doing 🙂

#9 So far, what has been your best day?

My best day was the day God let me experience how to be free from everyday hatred, from feeling so irritated everyday. I found peace and it is priceless!!!

#10 If you had 24 hours where you could do whatever you wanted….what would you do and why?

24 hours to myself only? No responsibility? I will window shop at the mall (which I haven’t done for a very long time now), color my hair, do my pedicure, read and write!

Now, here are my 10 nominees in no particular order. Please forgive me if I make a mistake. I am not sure how to check the number of followers. It is easy to spot it in some site. But for others, I am not even sure if it shows. This is for bloggers with less than 200 followers. If you have more than 200 please disregard.

Please visit these wonderful blogs and I am sure that there are still more inspiring blogs out there!

2. Do you consider yourself an introvert, extrovert, or in the middle?

3.. What made you start blogging?

4.  If there is anything you want to change in your body or in yourself, what can that be?

5. What is the greatest lesson you have learned so far?

6. Would you be a famous actor/actress or a great politician?

7. Do you want to win in a lottery? Why?

8. What else do you dream to have? to do?

9. What do you think of living with your mother-in-law under one roof?

10. If we are given a chance to speak to our descendants someday, what would you tell them?

Signing Off

I wish I have more time to write and read your blogs.

I promise I will devote a day to just reading

Keep writing

I can not wait to hear your thoughts and feelings

To learn new things

To see the other side of the world

To realize that I am not alone

That we are going through the same things

For we are humans

You are all my brothers and sisters

We are all pilgrims in this journey of life

Be happy and celebrate being alive!

Carry on : )
